El Diamante High School Choirs are glad to have welcomed Roger Harabedian, who took the lead as choir director in January of 2025. The El Diamante Choirs have enjoyed the esteemed leadership of some of the finest choral conductors in the area, first with John Sorber, then with Justin Witt.

Mr. Harabedian has taken the baton, and the EDHS Choirs continue to pursue musical excellence and impact. Mr. Harabedian comes to EDHS with over 30 years of teaching and performance experience, in many different musical areas.

Mr. Harabedian has been a choir director at multiple levels, encompassing all grades K-12, children’s and adult church choirs, he’s helped with the Fresno Master Chorale, and been an opera chorus master. He’s also been a choral festival adjudicator for over 10 years. Mr. Harabedian has done graduate work at UT Austin, and Cal State LA, and has a Master’s degree in choral conducting from Fresno State. In addition, Mr. Harabedian began his musical career as an instrumentalist, playing oboe and other woodwinds. He’s played with the Merced Symphony, and was the oboist with the President’s Quintet at Fresno State.

Letter from the El Diamante Choral Director

I am so grateful for the opportunity to be at El Diamante. It was not an easy decision to leave my former school (Madera South High) and my still dearly loved students, but I have really enjoyed a warm welcome at EDHS; and, as our choirs learned during the last semester, we can hold on to our love for people and places of our past, and still have love for the things of our present and future.

As we move forward into the 2025 - 2026 school year I am tremendously excited. We have students who are amazing! Their commitment, energy, love, and enthusiasm are unmatched! I am really excited about our new student leadership, and I am already astounded by their drive, care, and initiative! This year the EDHS Choirs may just have an unforgettable impact on the choir world.

Thank you for your interest in our choirs. We would love to see you at our concerts, and we appreciate any financial help. In addition to our annual choir trip this year, we are also planning to travel to Nashville, TN. Please check back for more details as they unfold, and please consider helping us as you feel led.

May our music entertain, energize, and inspire our listeners, may our love for each other spread to all those around us, may our community and world be a better place because of the El Diamante Choirs.

Roger Harabedian, Choir Director
